Monalizā
(mona lisa) 20xx

Mona Lisa stands as the unequivocal 'holy grail' of art, posing an unparalleled challenge for any artist attempting to craft their rendition of this legendary masterpiece. My interpretation, aptly named 'monalizā,' adheres to the artistic guidelines set by Da Vinci, albeit with a contemporary twist, featuring fewer trees and incorporating oil paint while maintaining both artistic language and message.

Inspired by Da Vinci's penchant for mirror writing to engage readers uniquely, I adopted a similar approach using materials reflective of our present-day reality. In this rendition, I sought to intertwine the complexities of 2020's with the values and artistry of today's society, echoing Da Vinci's approach in the 14th century.

The genesis of 'monalizā' traces back to my experience working with concrete casting in my previous gallery in Israel. Left untouched and gathering dust in my studio for over three years, the inspiration struck while I was immersed in concrete and cement projects. this heārtwork emerged from sesame stones, sand, and cement—materials mirroring the foundations of contemporary aristocracy.

Lack Of Communication & deception
Her form incorporates torn communication wires, symbolizing our global connectivity amid a paradoxical inability to communicate effectively. The eyes, echoing Da Vinci's original, now represent the pervasive gaze of the government's role as 'Big Brother' underscoring the censorship prevalent in our society, a censorship that extends to our daily consumption and the selective filtering of information.

Lack Of Freedom
The hands, molded from a stain-colored plaster reminiscent of prisoner clothing, signify a coerced tranquility amidst societal disquiet, highlighting our status as prisoners within the boundaries of governmental control. The red lips, sculpted from red sand, reveal the burying of truths in the metaphorical sand, where societal expectations often dictate our words, rendering them indecipherable and nonsensical.

Our Society
Monāliza's attire incorporates rough iron rail pieces over white-as-snow silicon, portraying class differences akin to railroad tracks. This illustrates the metaphorical ascent of individuals who inadvertently step on others in their pursuit, mirroring the societal climb with no clear destination.

While the original Mona Lisa featured a pastoral backdrop of its time, 'monalizā' is set against the concrete skyline of skyscrapers—a gray-topped landscape that embodies perpetual imperfection within perfection. For several months and over two years, I labored to construct, paint, and create the foundations of our contemporary society, particularly the high, judicious bourgeoisie fervently devoted to art.

The Heārt
This humble stone representation, 'monalizā,' stands as my bold and unabashed interpretation, articulating the spirit of the 2020s in my unique and revealing artistic language. Housed in my private 'Louvre,' this monolith titled 'The Femme Fatale' captures the essence of our time—a testament to these wicked times of humanity when we are no longer able to determine what is right and what is wrong, followed by the challenges of world's miscommunicating societies.

As the centuries unfold, this work of my heārt will remain to serve as a poignant reflection of our era and the evolutional change.
